Intern GIS
Are you interested in GIS and working with geodata? Then you are exactly right with us! In our team, you work on exciting projects around the cantonal GIS browser and the ArcGIS Enterprise environment of the Canton of Zurich and gain insight into the technical implementation of interactive map solutions. We offer you a versatile one-year internship where you can deepen your knowledge and actively contribute to the further development of our GIS infrastructure.
Your tasks
- You support the GIS specialist team in a variety of tasks and actively contribute your expertise – with the opportunity to specifically expand it and apply it in practical projects
- You participate in the further development of the cantonal GIS infrastructure, using modern technologies such as Mapserver, Docker, Git, FME, PostGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and QGIS – from conception through technical implementation to integration into existing systems
- You advise and support customers professionally in the area of WebGIS, assist them in implementing their projects, and contribute to quality assurance and further development of our digital map solutions
Your profile
- Preferably you have a degree in geography, geoinformatics, or computer science or are studying such a program
- You have GIS knowledge, experience with desktop GIS or WebGIS, as well as basic programming skills
- You have an independent and structured way of working and enjoy working in a team
- You are flexible and willing to engage actively with the GIS world
