The Department of Biomedicine is a joint effort between the University of Basel and the University Hospitals Basel. It unites basic and clinical scientists to advance our understanding of health and disease and to develop pioneering therapies benefiting the lives of patients in areas of unmet need.

The research group ,,Ocular Pharmacology and Physiology" at the Department of Biomedicine is looking for a postdoctoral level scientist with interest in brain waste clearance. The focus of our research is to understand how toxic metabolites such as amyloid-beta and others are cleared from the cerebrospinal fluid and the brain, and how this process can be leveraged therapeutically. The starting date is open.
Your position
- Designing, planning and performing animal experiments
- (Immuno-)histochemical tissue analysis
- Generation and analysis of novel reporter mouse lines
- Isolation of cells for single cell RNA-Seq analysis
- Supporting Ph.D. students
Your profile
- Ph.D. in life sciences
- Hands-on experience with mouse models
- Experience with intrathecal injection in mouse
