Kitchen assistant at Nestlé Hospital and Orthopedic Hospital
The Hospitality Service (HOT) is looking for a kitchen assistant - production at a workload between 80% - 100%, on a permanent contract, for the kitchens of Nestlé Hospital and Orthopedic Hospital, with a start date on April 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals and one of the best in the world according to the 2025 ranking by Newsweek magazine. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading and European-scale role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is tasked with ensuring that care, teaching, and research units can fully focus on their core business by providing and developing efficient logistical operational services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilization, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The catering service of the Hospitality Service (HOT) is attached to the LOH Department of CHUV. It includes several large kitchens that produce more than 2.2 million meals annually for patients, employees, and visitors. This work is carried out by more than 280 professionals committed to quality and service.
Mission
- You perform tasks related to the distribution of cold and hot dishes (patients and restaurant)
- You maintain equipment, machines, utensils, and dishes
- You participate in meal distribution on the line and buffet service in the restaurant
- You ensure good communication and information flow within the team
- You adopt a positive and constructive attitude so that the client always feels welcome and well served
- You may be required to cover shifts at different sites.
Profile
- You have at least 2 years of experience in the hospitality, hospital, or general catering field
- You are able to work in a hospital environment and comply with institutional hygiene standards
- You master the French language both orally and in writing (B1 level required)
- You are willing to work variable hours, evenings, weekends, and public holidays and to provide on-call service
- You are ready to work in a demanding environment (heat, noise, carrying loads, blind rooms, refrigerated rooms)
- You pay attention to the quality of your work, are punctual, autonomous, and have a good team spirit.
