The Section of Language and Information Sciences of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lausanne is offering a position for an assistant professor in general linguistics.
Additional Information
Start date: August 1, 2026
Contract duration: 2 years, renewable once for two years. According to the current academic planning, this position is not intended to be permanent.
Work rate: 80%
Workplace: Lausanne-Dorigny
Your Activities
Teaching load of 4 hours per week (BA or MA level seminars).
Supervision of students, exam management.
Individual research.
Participation in research activities and administration of the Section.
Your Profile
- PhD in Linguistics in the field of morphosyntax (or equivalent degree); additional skills and interests in semantics, psycholinguistics, phonetics, phonology, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, diachrony, or other sub-disciplines are welcome; the doctoral degree must be obtained before the start date.
- Willingness to develop research in one of the subfields listed above;
- Teaching experience and ability to teach in French, especially in morphosyntax;
- Good command of English;
- Skills in field linguistics or empirical data analysis organized in corpora would be an asset.
