The Office for Territorial Development of Graubünden (UST-GR) shapes the future of our unique alpine living space. With about 35 motivated employees, we are committed to responsibly using land as a limited resource and finding the right balance between the various demands placed on our living space. Our tasks range from implementing government directives on territorial planning policy, supporting local and regional planning, to reviewing building applications outside of building zones. Transparency, professional expertise, and the protection of our natural life bases are at the center of our attention.
For the master planning and bases section, we are looking for a head of section for August 2026 or by agreement
Responsibilities
- Leads the master planning and bases section, manages case processing, and further develops the three-person team both professionally and organizationally.
- As a member of management, contributes to the strategic orientation of the office and ensures proper implementation of federal law directives in the master planning sector.
- Coordinates and leads master plan processes in close collaboration with cantonal services, regions, municipalities, and other interest groups.
- Promotes further development of regional territory and takes on leadership of projects, technical bodies, and working groups or participates in them.
What we expect from you
- Bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent diploma), ideally in territorial planning or geography, combined with several years of professional experience
- Strategic, analytical, and solution-oriented thinking as well as experience in project management
- Ability to handle stressful situations and assert yourself regarding complex specialist and political demands
- Strong communication skills and an aptitude for dialogue with various interest groups
