Context
The University Hospital Center of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is tasked with ensuring that care, teaching, and research units can fully focus on their core business by providing and developing efficient logistical operational services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilization, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).

Following the position change of the current holder, the ADS Service is looking for a head of service. The ADS service, which has nearly 130 employees, has the main mission of controlling the flow of goods and incoming and outgoing mail of the institution. At the same time, its professional teams manage the stocks of care units, both in hospital wards and operating rooms.
Mission
- Define the service strategy, set objectives, action plans, and resources to be implemented, and monitor planning and execution
- Propose and introduce organizational and technological changes to meet service demands and internal client needs
- Define staffing and skill needs for the different sectors of the service; analyze financial resource needs and manage the allocated budget
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the service, ensure their monitoring and achievement of objectives
- Supervise, monitor, and develop management functions by promoting exchanges and a spirit of collaboration
- Apply human resources policy in close collaboration with HR partners
- Inform, disseminate, and enforce all legal standards and constraints inherent to the service's activities
- Ensure open, smooth, and transparent communication with internal and external partners in an interdisciplinary context.
Profile
- You hold a higher education degree in engineering and/or logistics (HES/UNIL/EPFL) or an equivalent qualification
- You have solid experience (at least 5 years) in logistics flows; confirmed experience in the hospital field is a strong asset
- You demonstrate at least 5 years of experience in leading multidisciplinary teams; your management style allows you to support managers working in a high-demand environment and in contact with medical and nursing teams
- You are proactive and have solid experience in project management and leadership
- You have excellent oral and written command of French and good knowledge of German and/or English
- Your open and charismatic personality allows you to convince, unite, and adapt your speech to any type of interlocutor.
