The position is attached to the Department of Surgery. This department provides care for patients both electively and in emergencies. It represents a center of excellence, not only Swiss but also European in several fields and in many of its surgical specialties.
Job Description
You will join unit 5ABCL, specialized in septic orthopedics, to care for patients in the pre- and post-operative phases presenting surgical conditions or diseases of the musculoskeletal system with a septic context. The presence of associated chronic pathologies such as diabetes, hypertension, or addictive behaviors requires complex care and excellent clinical analysis skills. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary care team (physiotherapist, SPCI, ISC in diabetology and addictology) and ensure precise and rigorous information transfer. You adopt a confident stance towards surgeons to ensure quality patient care.
Within a small team, you provide nursing care autonomously and by delegation, skillfully combining highly technical skills and strong interpersonal qualities. You actively and responsibly participate in patient safety by rigorously applying precautionary measures to prevent the transmission of infectious agents.
With a patient-centered approach and awareness of each individual’s uniqueness, you care for amputee patients with great empathy and kindness. You support them in the technical aspects of care but also, thanks to your pedagogical qualities and skills in therapeutic education, towards new autonomy.
At the same time, you advance your practice in complex septic dressings and NPT (Negative Pressure Therapy) through training offered by the septic orthopedic treatment room, with which you work hand in hand. You show curiosity about evolving practices and are capable of self-reflection.
Finally, you participate in the supervision and clinical teaching of nursing staff and in collective initiatives to promote the quality of care.
Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent recognized title by the Swiss Red Cross.
You have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience.
You possess a keen sense of organization, priority management, and stress management. Your interpersonal skills and calmness allow you to set boundaries on what is acceptable in a care relationship.
You demonstrate emotional intelligence to handle certain complex or conflictual situations.
Additional Information
You will work day, night, and weekend shifts according to service needs.
