The position is attached to the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents . This department's mission is to provide quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to address the health issues faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to 16 years old. It works on developing cutting-edge services and specialty competence centers.
The obstetrics service, the largest maternity hospital in Switzerland, is responsible for caring for pregnant women and managing pregnancy diagnosis through to delivery, as well as during the postpartum period.
Both normal and high-risk pregnancies are monitored by the service, which performs ultrasounds and prenatal diagnosis.
Therapeutic pregnancy terminations beyond 12 weeks gestational age are also managed, as well as fetal medicine services (monitoring, diagnosis, intrauterine treatment).

Certified as a « Baby-Friendly Hospital » by UNICEF, it is committed through this label to promoting breastfeeding.
The mission of the gynecology service is to ensure the follow-up of women throughout their reproductive life and during menopause. It welcomes women and couples with maximum comfort and safety, respecting privacy and individual values.
The service consists of several specialized consultations. The medical oncogynecology, surgical oncogynecology, and surgical senology units jointly manage gynecological cancers and breast cancers.
The gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine unit organizes care for issues related to reproduction, infertility, and menopause.
The perineology unit's mission is the prevention and treatment of genital prolapses ("organ descents") and urinary incontinence.
The gynecology service also provides training for specialist gynecologist-obstetricians, contributes to medical student education, and participates in continuing medical education for practicing physicians.
Thanks to a strong emphasis on research, the service offers women the highest quality of care possible, respecting procedures established at both federal and international levels.
Job Description
Under the supervision of the medical hierarchy, you will hold a head of clinic position in the Gynecology and/or Obstetrics Services.
In this role, you assist the chief physicians and attending physicians in patient care, coordination of practical activities, clinical, therapeutic, or surgical interventions, and you ensure the quality of medical services in the care units within your area of expertise.
Working in a stimulating university environment within a multidisciplinary team, you supervise and mentor residents and interns in both services, thus contributing to their training.
You will also cover head of clinic on-call duties in the gynecology and obstetrics services.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma and a specialty title in gynecology and obstetrics or have equivalent training recognized by MEBEKO.
You have the right to practice in the canton of Geneva or are able to obtain it before starting your position.
Having worked at least one year within the gynecology and obstetrics services of the HUG and/or having experience in gynecology and obstetrics in a Swiss hospital are additional assets.
