Job Description
The social educator works with young people in difficulty to promote their overall development, autonomy, and social integration. In a specialized public educational institution, they actively participate in the daily life of the youth, contribute to the implementation of educational and therapeutic projects, and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team.
Your missions:
Support each young person in a personalized care and education project.
Encourage a constructive group dynamic.
Participate in the development of the unit.
Integrate educational actions into the therapeutic project.
Ensure the smooth running of psychodrama, climbing, and circus activities.
Maintain close collaboration with families and professionals.
- Educational support:
Supervise daily life (getting up, meals, activities, bedtime).
Support the autonomy and expression of young people.
Observe, evaluate, and communicate information. - Interdisciplinary work:
Collaborate with care, therapeutic, and educational teams.
Participate in meetings, supervisions, and decisions. - Psychodrama, climbing, circus:
Co-lead sessions.
Define indications and monitor participants. - Administrative management:
Write reports, files, and documents.
Respect institutional procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma as a social educator ES or HES.
- Experience in psychiatry and/or child psychiatry (an asset).
- Interest in group therapeutic work.
- Ability to work within a demanding institutional framework.
- Professional skills: analysis, writing, interdisciplinarity.
- Relational skills: listening, communication, collaboration.
- Personal skills: adaptability, ethics, sense of responsibility.
