Justice Enforcement and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for criminal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 people from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, and the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The Affoltern am Albis Prison (GFA) is one of the enforcement facilities of the Canton of Zurich (VEZ) – one of seven main departments of JuWe – and is an institution specialized in the closed enforcement of custodial sentences. The GFA offers space for about 60 incarcerated persons.
We are looking for a committed and team-oriented personality to strengthen our administration team.
This is your area of responsibility
- You are responsible for handling all processes related to the inmates, such as admissions and releases, transfers, as well as maintaining all relevant data and appointments
- You create transport orders for the inmates and forward them to the responsible transport service
- In this dynamic position, you communicate in writing and by phone nationwide with referring authorities, psychiatric clinics, courts, and the police
- You take on administrative tasks such as inmate accounting, processing invoices, managing incoming and outgoing mail, and ordering meals for inmates
- In addition, you check access authorizations and carry out access controls
What you bring with you
- After your commercial basic training, you have already gained experience in comparable functions, ideally in public administration
- You have a confident command of German in spoken and written form and have knowledge of at least one other language. Additional language skills are an advantage.
- You use IT applications confidently and efficiently
- You are resilient and remain calm under pressure; a structured way of working characterizes you
- You have a clean record (i.e., no entries in the debt enforcement and criminal registers)
