Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 people with diverse professional profiles. JuWe is responsible for criminal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For JuWe employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Psychiatric-Psychological Service (PPD) is a main department of Correctional Services and Reintegration. The psychiatric, psychological, and psychotherapeutic care of offenders is provided by about 60 employees with basic training in psychology, psychiatry, social pedagogy, or milieu therapy. The broad therapeutic offering of the PPD includes treatments in dyadic, group, and milieu therapeutic settings within the framework of court-ordered inpatient or outpatient measures. A focus of treatment is the relapse-preventive offense-oriented psychotherapy of violent and sexual offenders in custody and in freedom.
The functional unit Therapeutic Initial Assessments (TEA) is assigned to the specialist services of the PPD, which support and complement the core business of the PPD. TEA serves as the central contact point for registrations and admissions of clients with primarily court-ordered therapeutic treatments and remains involved in the therapeutic processes until a consolidated treatment plan is achieved.
For the specialist service Therapeutic Initial Assessment (TEA), we are looking for a committed and motivated person for the one-year limited PG position starting February 2026.
Your tasks
- File study and summary for conducting the prognostic preliminary assessment
- Accompanying a TEA specialist service employee to the respective preliminary assessment interviews
- Learning and guided execution of a forensic risk assessment based on currently common instruments (including VRAG, Static, FOTRES, PCL-R)
- Collaboration in forensic diagnostics and description of the offense hypothesis
- Regular participation in the TEA quality circle and TEA team meetings
- Active internal and cross-departmental cooperation and interdisciplinary collaboration complete the task portfolio
Your profile
- Completed Master’s degree in Psychology
- Interest in criminology, forensics, prognosis, and risk assessment
- Excellent German skills and pronounced ability to clearly and understandably summarize even complex issues
- Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
- High social competence
- Impeccable reputation
