What do we offer you?
The training to become a Cook EFZ is an exciting and versatile vocational training that prepares you for a creative and responsible activity in the gastronomy sector. During your apprenticeship, you will learn how to work with fresh, high-quality ingredients and ensure their quality. You will be able to prepare a variety of dishes that are both tasty and healthy. You will have the opportunity to work with different ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, and spices and develop creative menus.
During your training you will learn...
As a Cook EFZ, you are an important part of the kitchen team. You work under the direction of a head chef and learn how to professionally prepare various dishes. During your training, you will get to know different areas in the kitchen, such as the preparation of appetizers, main courses, desserts, and side dishes. You will also be introduced to kitchen organization, learn how to work efficiently, and gain insight into the storage and handling of food.
Diversity and Creativity
In your training, you will get to know dishes from all over the world, including vegetarian, vegan, international, and traditional home cooking. You will learn to apply the right techniques to prepare dishes quickly and precisely. You can let your creativity run free and contribute your own ideas to menu design.
Important Skills and Competencies
In addition to practical cooking skills, you will also acquire important knowledge in hygiene, food science, kitchen organization, and teamwork. You will learn how to plan, prepare, and work efficiently to always delight guests with high-quality dishes. Furthermore, you will learn how to remain calm and focused in a lively environment.
Perspectives after training
After completing your training, you have the opportunity to further educate yourself, for example, to become a head chef, food manager, or in other areas of gastronomy. With an EFZ diploma, many doors are open to turn your passion for cooking into a profession and to continuously develop yourself.
