All our machines are specifically designed for our customers, so each product is unique. Today, we collaborate with clients spread across 22 countries worldwide and we have 8 subsidiaries located in Europe, Brazil, Japan, and Australia.
As part of the digitalization of our machines, we want to modernize the communication systems on board our machines. For this, we want to evaluate modern IP intercom solutions:
. Communicate between driver cabins and workstations.
. Interface with a Motorola VHF/UHF radio station.
. Provide a basis for voice-type human-machine interaction.
. Meet onboard railway requirements (standards, robustness, integration).
To this end, we wish to welcome an Intercom Intern to complement our Technical Office of 12 collaborators including the manager.
. List existing IP intercom solutions with analog/serial/IP audio interface to radio.
. Identify technologies supporting voice over IP in an embedded context with constraints.
. Identify communication needs between cabins and maintenance areas.
. Determine essential functions: priority calls, group calls, confidentiality, and logging.
. Study technical means to interface a Motorola VHF/UHF radio (audio input/output, PTT, squelch, VOX, etc.)
. Propose an interfacing mode applicable to different commercial radio models.
. Design a prototype interface or propose an existing solution.
. Identify applicable standards.
. Verify the compliance of the considered solutions with these standards.
. Deploy a functional demonstrator (mock-up or test bench) with at least 2 IP stations and 1 connected radio.
. Measure audio performance (latency, quality, reliability).
. Study the feasibility of adding voice interaction ("OK operator", offline voice recognition).
. Bachelor/Master in electrical, mechanical, microtechnology or equivalent field
. English level B2
