The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including athletes, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs), Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organisations.
If you are experienced in the field of Public Relations and Communications, and the vision to build a better world through sports inspires you, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Olympic Movement within the IOC.As a PR and Communications Coordinator, your mission will be to contribute to media relations and communications activities for the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage (OFCH), the Olympic Museum and the Olympic Studies Centre.
PR & Communications Coordinator’s main responsibilities:
Media Relations
- Coordinate the press office and manage day-to-day media requests for the OFCH, the Olympic Museum and the Olympic Studies Centre, ensuring timely and accurate follow-up.
- Support the PR & Communications Manager in the drafting, producing and updating of press materials (press releases, press kits, digests, visuals...).
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and thematic media monitoring reports, consolidating inputs from monitoring agencies and supporting analysis of results.
Communications
- Draft and edit written content (press releases, articles, website texts, newsletters, social media captions, promotional materials).
- Coordinate translations into multiple languages and ensure accuracy and consistency across platforms.
- Update and maintain the press and news sections of the Olympic Museum website.
- Contribute to the running of the Olympic Studies Centre and Olympic Museum social media accounts.
- Coordinate the preparation and distribution of the newsletters, managing the production process and ensuring timely publication
- Coordinate and participate, when required, in PR and promotional activities, as defined by the management.
- Support the PR & Communications Manager and Senior Events & Promotion Manager on internal communications initiatives.
- Support Senior Events & Promotion Manager and other Managers of the Engagement Unit in other activities and tasks, as defined by the management.
Project support
- Assist the PR & Communications Manager in liaising with local partners, agencies and stakeholders on communication deliverables.
- Coordinate media visits and contribute with the Events team to deliver press conferences and other promotional opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Higher education degree or equivalent qualification
- Three to five years’ communications experience in a similar international or university environment
- Excellent writing and speaking skills in French and English.
- Experience of project and knowledge management and the relevant tools is desirable
- Excellent command of office IT tools (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent command of “corporate” tools and ability to follow internal usage rules (SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
