For one of our clients operating a large refining site in Switzerland, we are currently looking for an experienced process engineer to support engineering studies and plant improvement initiatives.
Job Description
As part of industrial facility expansion projects and maintenance and operations activities, we are looking for a Planning Engineer to support the planning and monitoring of on-site activities.
The position involves close collaboration with the maintenance, operations, projects, and contractors teams to ensure proper coordination of work and adherence to deadlines.
Main tasks:
Activity Planning
Develop and maintain detailed schedules for:
maintenance work
operational activities
facility expansion projects
Structure activities via a WBS (Work Breakdown Structure).
Identify critical paths and planning risks.
Work Coordination
Coordinate schedules with:
maintenance teams
operations teams
engineering
contractors
Ensure activities are aligned with the site’s operational constraints.
Progress Monitoring
Track work progress and update schedules.
Analyze planning deviations (delays / slippage).
Propose corrective actions or recovery scenarios.
Reporting
Produce regular progress reports.
Present key indicators:
progress
critical milestones
planning risks
date forecasts.
Support for Turnarounds
Participate in the preparation of shutdowns / turnarounds.
Plan resources and work sequences.
Qualifications
Education
Engineering degree or technical equivalent
Experience
5 to 10 years minimum experience in industrial planning.
Experience in an environment:
Oil & Gas
refinery
chemicals
energy
heavy industrial facilities.
Experience in industrial maintenance or shutdowns is highly appreciated.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with planning tools:
Primavera P6
MS Project
Good knowledge of:
project planning management
industrial maintenance
multi-contractor coordination
Ability to work in an active operational environment.

English: mandatory
Mission duration: 12 months (renewable)
