Deputy Chief of Clinic or Associate Psychologist at the Psy&Migrant Unit
We are looking for a deputy chief of clinic at the Psy&Migrants Unit at 70% or an associate psychologist at 80% starting from 01.01.2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Community Psychiatry Service (PCO) is tasked with providing care and facilitating the integration and maintenance in the community of people suffering from mental disorders. Particular attention is paid to relational, social, and environmental factors that influence mental health.
The therapeutic approach, centered on the recovery of the individuals followed, is multidisciplinary and relies on mobile interventions, outpatient consultations, and day hospital activities.
The Psy&Migrants Unit is a mobile multidisciplinary team. Its objective is to improve the quality and accessibility of mental health care for precarious migrants, by supporting primary care providers, through psychiatric follow-ups in complex situations related to the migration journey and/or severe precariousness, as well as through research and training.
The team consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, case manager nurses, social workers, and sociolinguists. Additionally, the staff of the Psy&Migrants Unit participate in the activities of the Regional Migrant Care Unit (USMiR). Within this unit, work is organized on the model of health centers where general practitioners, psychiatrists and psychotherapists, pediatricians, and child psychiatrists work together to offer quality, coherent, and efficient follow-ups to asylum seekers and their families.
The Psy&Migrants Unit works closely with other professionals who support the migrant population followed, notably: primary care, specialized transcultural psychiatry offices, other Services of the CHUV Psychiatry Department, Unisanté, Vaud Migrant Reception Establishment (EVAM).
Mission
- Clinical activity: you conduct psychiatric evaluations, therapeutic consultations, and psychotherapies for patients from asylum backgrounds, within the missions of the Psy&Migrants Unit
- Supervisory activity: you participate in the governance of the Psy&Migrants Unit in collaboration with other managers. You contribute to the supervision of staff through supervisions and the facilitation of team meetings
- Cross-departmental activities: you offer clinical support in the form of advice and supervisions to other CHUV Units, EVAM social teams, and general medicine teams of the Migrant Care Sector
- Administrative activities: you assume administrative tasks and participate in monitoring the Unit's activities
- Training and research activities: you participate in teaching and research activities within the Service.
Profile
- For doctors, you hold an FMH medical diploma or a title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (Mebeko). You hold an FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy (or equivalent) or are in the process of obtaining it
- For psychologists, you hold a master's degree in psychology and a federal postgraduate psychotherapist title
- For non-French speakers, you have a C1 level in French (certificate required)
- You have experience in following migrant populations
- You appreciate working in a multidisciplinary team and network and are interested in working closely with partners in the socio-health network
- You are driven by scientific curiosity and have an interest in the complementarity of theoretical models in the field of mental health.
