The Human Resources Management's main mission is to ensure the development of the institution's human capital in view of organizational evolution. It constantly seeks to innovate, challenge, and improve its practices while basing its strategy on the positive experience of employees. The HUG HR policy is based on skills development and career paths aligned with institutional needs and focuses on considering the individual, work-life balance, and health and safety at work.
To support the evolution of its activities and as part of an ambitious transformation project, the Skills Development Center (CDC) of the University Hospitals of Geneva is looking for a Head of the Continuing Education Sector. Aligned with the Human Resources Management strategy, the CDC develops and deploys a range of programs and measures to ensure that HUG has the necessary skills to fulfill its mission and that each staff member can realize their full potential and stay at the forefront of their profession. CDC activities include initial and professional training (internships and apprenticeships), specialized nursing training, as well as continuing education.
Job Description
As Head of the Continuing Education Sector, your main mission is to lead the team of dedicated continuing education officers who respond daily to the needs of internal and external partners, support the management and departments in their training activities, and develop the continuing education offer for the entire institution.
To meet the many challenges facing the institution and the evolution of health sector professions, you are committed to advancing best practices in training and development. For this, you and your team actively collaborate with various Human Resources services: HR managers, succession planning, career management, etc., as well as with hierarchies at different levels, ensuring that the HUG continuing education offer meets the institution's transversal skills development needs and those of the various professional sectors.
Thanks to your leadership, you support the continuing education team in the challenges it must face, both in terms of activities to be carried out and in change management or skills development for each member. On a daily basis, you provide clarity in the team's missions as well as coherence in the different responsibilities and areas of expertise. Finally, you ensure an effective and agile organizational structure within the team. For this, with a strategic, participative approach conducive to innovation and focused on stakeholder experience and its continuous improvement, you work closely with all other CDC sectors.
As a member of the CDC Management, and in close collaboration with its members and its Director, your knowledge of the training field and your experience in organizational support and change management allow you to contribute significantly to the achievement of all CDC missions and projects, as well as to promoting a learning culture within the institution.
Qualifications
Your proven professional experience in team management of at least 3 years and your excellent mastery of training-related issues within organizations allow you to quickly position yourself as a key and influential player with your various interlocutors (members of Management and sector management, Managers, Human Resources Managers, potential partners, and collaborators). You are a change and innovation agent. You adopt a coaching posture for the benefit of your team's development. You are proactive and leverage your experiences and expertise to meet the institution's current and future needs.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university qualification, ideally in adult education, work psychology, or human resources, is a prerequisite.
You have more than 5 years of professional experience in corporate training (public or private sector, a combination of both is a real asset).
You have a methodical and structured approach to managing your projects and activities, enabling you to coordinate, prioritize, and efficiently manage internal and/or external resources, including budgetary aspects. This management is carried out in a spirit of continuous improvement, serving the needs and strategic challenges of your clients and internal and external partners.
This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills to develop strategic partnerships, understand issues, and successfully conduct various negotiations. Thanks to your client orientation, analytical and synthesis skills, you are able to provide the advice expected by the different stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, team spirit, and great rigor are required.
Very comfortable with IT tools, you master MS Office and everyday collaborative tools perfectly. You also have a good knowledge of practices regarding the use of HR IT tools and systems, notably LMS.
We offer you the opportunity to contribute significantly to the achievement of the CDC, HR, and more broadly HUG missions, in a transforming environment with exciting challenges. You will join a supportive and professional Management team within the Skills Development Center.
