The Swiss Union of Jewish Relief Committees (VSJF) is looking from October 2025 or by agreement for an advisor for the Asylum Seekers Advice Service (60-80%) Work locations: Boudry (NE) and as needed Giffers (FR), Vallorbe (VD), Les Rochat (VD) and Grand-Saconnex (GE), as well as other federal centers in French-speaking Switzerland Fixed-term contract of 6 months with possibility of extension In partnership with Caritas Switzerland and the Swiss Refugee Aid Organization (OSAR), we provide legal protection for asylum seekers in the federal centers of French-speaking Switzerland on behalf of the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM). The VSJF is responsible for the Advice Service there. Your tasks

The Swiss Union of Jewish Relief Committees (VSJF) is part of the Swiss Refugee Aid Organization (OSAR). For many years, the VSJF has been working to ensure that asylum seekers have a proper and fair asylum procedure that respects their rights.
- You conduct consultations with asylum seekers on the asylum procedure in various languages or with the help of interpreters.
- You manage the hotline to answer asylum seekers' questions related to the procedure.
- You cooperate on a case-by-case basis with legal representatives in various areas (vulnerable persons, family reunification, means of proof, etc.).
- You work closely with various actors involved in the asylum procedure (State Secretariat for Migration, cantonal migration offices, International Organization for Migration, etc.) and network asylum seekers with other specialized services.
- You contribute to the development and evolution of the Advice Service. Your skills
- You have training in the field of migration, social or political sciences, social work, or a similar field.
- You have professional experience in the field of asylum or a similar area.
- You are accustomed to conducting interviews in an intercultural context.
- You have an excellent command of French (level C2) and very good knowledge of English and possibly other languages.
- You are a flexible, empathetic person who is resilient to stress and difficult stories.
- Knowledge of asylum and foreigner law complements your profile.
