Project Manager - Main Focus Project “Future of Work” (60-100%)
The Impact Hub Zurich is an entrepreneurial community with over 800 members who jointly shape a cooperative and sustainable future. We connect entrepreneurs, techies, creatives, changemakers, and other doers into a vibrant innovation ecosystem. Our program and partnership team works along two main focuses: Climate Action and Diversity & Inclusion.
Currently, we are building a new flagship project: Future of Work – developing future skills for the working world of tomorrow. We are creating a program for young adults (18–30) to build key future skills, develop career perspectives, and actively shape their path into a meaningful working world. In parallel, a Future-of-Work cluster is emerging, where companies, public actors, and educational institutions jointly discuss new work models and develop systemic solutions.
For the development and implementation of this project, we are looking for a committed project manager. Important: You will not work alone. The project team additionally consists of a program support position (40–50%) and is embedded in our Programs & Partnership Team. You take overall responsibility for the project: you steer and accompany the operational implementation, keep the project on track, set priorities, distribute tasks within the team, and are the main contact person for the project partner to ensure high-quality results.
Your main tasks
You are responsible for overall management — not for the sole execution of all tasks.
You clearly distribute roles, responsibilities, and tasks within the project team and ensure that everything is implemented efficiently, effectively, and in line with the program.
1. Project Management & Operational Control
- Overall responsibility for planning and implementing the Future of Work program
- Budget responsibility as well as ongoing financial planning and controlling
- Coordination of the project team (program support & possibly interns from summer)
- Ensuring an efficient and high-quality project process
- Monitoring, reporting, and continuous development of the program
- Building and coordinating program-related communication (social media, website, etc.) with support from the communications team
2. Program Planning & Execution
- Design and organization of program modules, coaching, and peer workshops (based on existing rough concept)
- Planning and conducting events including moderation and facilitation
3. Community & Participant Management
- Recruitment of participants in close cooperation with partner organizations
- Building, supporting, and accompanying an engaged, supportive community (online & offline)
4. Building the Future-of-Work Cluster
- Building and shaping a long-term ecosystem around future-proof working environments
- Planning and conducting cluster formats (e.g., roundtables, experimental spaces)
- Identifying synergies, co-creation potentials, and joint development fields
5. (From >60% workload) Participation in other projects
- Participation, fundraising, or management of additional projects in the areas of Climate Action or Diversity & Inclusion
You fit with us if you …
- Have at least 3-5 years of experience in project management or program design – ideally in the impact sector (Climate Action or Diversity & Inclusion)
- Bring very good organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Advantageous: experience in community building
- Enjoy working with young adults and diverse stakeholders
- Work independently, solution-oriented, and precisely – with a real "Let’s get it done" mentality
- Like to moderate, structure, and coordinate complex projects
- Are passionate about topics like Future of Work, education, Climate Action, Diversity & Inclusion, or entrepreneurship
- Have a genuine interest in collaborative, value-oriented working methods
- Master German and English at least at C1 level (exclusion criterion)
Working conditions & benefits
- Workload 60-100%,
- Flexible working conditions, workplace at our co-working space (mainly Impact Hub Zurich Colab, home office possible)
- Lots of creative freedom within your projects/your work
- 42-hour week - annual target hours
- 5 weeks of vacation per year
- Membership in the global Impact Hub network
- 60% discount on food & beverages in all IHZ venues (Café Auer&Co and Kraftwerk)
- Participation in programs & events of the IHZ ecosystem
- Continued payment of salary in case of illness (30 days) and accident (60 days) at 100%
