Main tasks
- Responsibility for timely execution of proactive, critical, and risk-oriented supervision of a portfolio of medium or small banks based on available information (audit reports, information from FINMA's rating system, specific investigations)
- Critical assessment and approval of risk analyses and audit strategies presented by audit firms commissioned to carry out prudential audits
- Participation in on-site inspections in Switzerland and conducting supervisory interventions related to specific problematic cases
- Development and implementation of measures aimed at restoring compliance
- Responsible for relations with boards of directors, general management, and heads of key functions at supervised entities, as well as with representatives of foreign supervisory authorities
- Close collaboration with other internal FINMA services (cross-functional roles, other divisions)
Required profile
- Diploma from a university of applied sciences in economics or higher education in the banking sector or training and corresponding qualification as an accounting expert
- At least five years of experience in the banking sector (credit units or risk officer) or at an audit firm, for example as an internal auditor or accounting expert
- In-depth knowledge of banking law and financial market law, excellent knowledge of the financial sector and products
- Excellent communication skills (convincing interlocutor at all hierarchical levels)
- Ability to assert oneself and high flexibility as well as excellent skills in identifying and quickly solving complex problems
- Native French or Italian speaker (C2) with excellent knowledge of the other language and good knowledge of German (B2)
