Laboratory Technician at the Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolism Department
The Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolism Department is looking for a laboratory technician at 60%, starting April 1, 2026, to join a multidisciplinary translational research team in a dynamic scientific environment.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education.
The Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolism (EDM) Department provides highly specialized medical services and is a Swiss reference center for rare endocrine diseases. In this context, a research biobank is being developed to support numerous scientific projects.
This position offers you the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of the biobank as well as to the translational research projects associated with it.
Mission
- You handle and store biological samples in compliance with current procedures
- You participate in DNA and RNA extraction
- You ensure the management and updating of databases related to samples and projects
- You contribute to the daily operation and organization of the laboratory
- You participate in the development of the laboratory and experimental designs
- You work in strict compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality rules.
Profile
- You hold a Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as a laboratory technician or an equivalent qualification
- You have experience handling biological samples and/or tissue banks
- You have experience managing computerized databases
- You demonstrate rigor, precision, and good autonomy in your work
- You possess strong organizational skills
- You appreciate working in a multidisciplinary team in a hospital environment.
Depending on the candidate's profile, the salary class will be between 4 and 6.
