Professor in Education for Hearing Impairment 80%
For the Institute of Language and Communication, we are looking for a committed personality for the strategic teaching, research, and development field "Education for Hearing Impairment" starting September 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
The teaching, research, and development area focuses in particular on the further development and implementation of bilingual and bicultural educational approaches in science and practice.
Your area of responsibility
- Establishment and further development of the nationally unique strategic field of bilingual and bicultural education in science and practice
- Responsibility for tasks in the field of hearing within the fourfold mandate (education, further education, research & development, and services)
- Acquisition of third-party funding for research
- Establishment and maintenance of national and international cooperations
- Promotion of collaboration between deaf, hearing-impaired, and hearing professionals
Your profile
- PhD in special education, remedial education, Deaf Studies, linguistics, audiopedagogy, or related disciplines
- Experience in designing and leading research and service projects
- Proven expertise in scientific publishing and third-party funding acquisition
- Proven expertise in the field of education for hearing impairment
- In-depth knowledge in at least one other area, e.g.: audiopedagogy or audiology, sign language / sign language pedagogy or bilingual education in the hearing field
- Experience in university teaching as well as research and development
- Experience in establishing and further developing teaching, research, and development fields
- Interest in strategic development and interprofessional collaboration
