YOUR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
To strengthen our team, we are looking for two qualified engineers for the creation of load assumptions or the fatigue assessment of car bodies. A combination of both fields of activity is also possible if interested.
Focus 1: Load assumptions for the fatigue strength of car bodies
- Creation of standard-compliant load assumptions for car body calculations according to relevant international standards (e.g., EN 12663-1) using MATLAB
- Evaluation of test runs, detailed analysis of measurement data
- Technical contact person for users of the load assumptions
- Close cooperation and technical coordination with calculation engineers, engineering, project management
- Further development and standardization of methods for creating load assumptions
Focus 2: Fatigue calculation of car bodies
- Execution of FEM analyses for the operational strength of car bodies (Abaqus, FEMFAT)
- Assessment of fatigue strength according to relevant standards and guidelines using the notch stress concept (FKM guideline, DVS 1608)
- Documentation of calculation results in technical reports
- Further development of methods: modeling, workflows, and evaluation methods
YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Technical Qualification
- Completed university degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, materials engineering, mechatronics, or comparable
- Good knowledge of structural mechanics, operational strength, and FEM
- Experience with MATLAB (load assumptions), ANSA/META, Abaqus and/or FEMFAT
- Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., EN 12663-1), experience in rail vehicle construction or in the design of welded structures is an advantage
