As part of our 7-member self-organized IT team «Teaching and Studying», you will work on a variety of tasks related to the development and operation of our web applications. You will actively contribute to shaping our product range.
We are responsible for our learning platform (Moodle) and the self-developed student portal myZHAW, using various technologies. Since superpowers rarely come alone, we support each other to ensure the smooth operation and further development of our products and to advance our own development.
For this, we are looking for you as an application developer.
Your main tasks and responsibilities with us include:
- Further development and operation of our web applications and their interfaces.

- Analysis, system design, quality assurance, and technical documentation.
- Making technical decisions within the team.

In short: develop, operate, design, and learn together with us.

- Very good knowledge of PHP and TypeScript.
- Experience in frontend development with modern frameworks.
- Confident handling of version control (Git/GitLab).

- High quality standards for your own code and that of your teammates for mutual code review or pair programming.
- Ability to write clean code even without AI support.
- You approach complex technical issues with curiosity, perseverance, and systematic methods.
- You work independently – your focus is on the team’s priority projects and you consistently advance topics, also in exchange with other teams.
That would be a plus:
- Studies in computer science or a related field.
- Experience with accessible web applications.
- Knowledge in automated testing.
- Practical experience with Moodle.
- Know-how or willingness to learn Angular and Laravel.
- Interest in container technologies like Kubernetes.
If you are a convinced team player, like to take co-responsibility in a team, and contribute with commitment and a partnership attitude to open, effective collaboration, you are right with us.
If you feel comfortable in a dynamic, complex environment and count interest in new technologies and their further development among your strengths, this role will excite you. We look forward to your application and getting to know each other!
