The EOC, the multi-site hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. The organization effectively combines a local approach with an overall vision, guaranteeing the population a comprehensive and nearby hospital offer, regardless of where the services are requested.
Thanks to the commitment and expertise of over 6,500 collaborators and their attention to human relations, the EOC ensures quality healthcare by caring for over 41,000 inpatients annually and providing over 600,000 outpatient consultations.
The Institute of Integrated Diagnostics of Italian Switzerland (IDISI) brings together the Clinics of radiology, nuclear medicine, pathology, and laboratory medicine and, with its approximately 600 collaborators and nearly 4 million exams and analyses performed each year, offers a complete and high-quality diagnostic service, meeting the needs of patients residing throughout the cantonal territory. Overcoming traditional specialty barriers, IDISI adopts a multidisciplinary approach to promote more efficient and personalized diagnostic-therapeutic pathways, capable of specifically addressing the particular needs of each patient.
Furthermore, the Institute is oriented towards university teaching and the promotion of biomedical research.
To complete our Medical Physics Service team, we are looking for a:
Medical Physicist (100%)
(mainly dedicated to Radiotherapy)
Profile:
The Medical Physics Service employs 7 medical physicists, 2 dosimetrists, and a radiology technician who handle radiotherapy, radioprotection, and imaging, carrying out their activities in the various EOC departments.
The available equipment includes:
- 2 Varian TrueBeam LINACs with integrated imaging and 6DoF couch;
- Dedicated Siemens Somatom Xcite CT;
- Dedicated Philips Ingenia 1.5 T MRI with MRCAT software for radiotherapy only-MRI;
- Brainlab ExacTrac system for stereotactic treatments and radiosurgery;
- CRAD surface imaging system: 2 Catalyst HD and 1 Sentinel for 4DCT and DIBH acquisitions;
- Varian ARIA Record and Verify System and Eclipse TPS for planning 3DCT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, SRT treatments;
- Brainlab Elements TPS (Spine and Multiple Brain Mets module) for planning cranial and spinal SRS and SRT treatments;
- Xoft Axxent system for Brachytherapy, IORT, and superficial treatments;
- Alba 4000D hyperthermia system for superficial therapy and Alba 4D for deep therapies.
Required qualifications:
- Master's degree in physics, a Swiss specialization in medical physics, or equivalent;
- professional experience in radiotherapy;
- ease in teamwork, interest in developing new skills in radiotherapy, radioprotection, and imaging;
- initiative and intellectual curiosity;
- knowledge of English and preferably German is required to access the competition. Knowledge of Italian is not a preferential qualification;
- experience with Varian technology is preferred;
- identification with the organization's values.
