Progress at Endress+Hauser happens through collaboration. As the world's leading provider of measuring instruments, our more than 17,000 employees shape the future in the field of process automation. Whether in the innovation and implementation of new technologies in teams, collaboration in the development of new devices, or strengthening important relationships with various global industries: Our work is based on building trusting relationships that help everyone succeed. As a family-run company, we look beyond short-term goals and work to create a future-oriented vision for our employees, our customers, and the world in general.
We are looking for a master's thesis intern for Endress+Hauser Flow in Reinach (BL), Switzerland. As part of this thesis, you will make a valuable contribution to the global comparability and transparency of quality metrics in production – directly contributing to the improvement of our operational excellence.
What is the position about?
Do you want to design your master's thesis in a practical way and create real added value? Are you interested in production processes, KPIs, and international collaboration? And do you bring analytical thinking and initiative?
Then this topic is just right for you: At Endress+Hauser, quality metrics are recorded monthly, but so far there is no uniform definition of how these KPIs should be measured, who is responsible for what, and which standards apply to all Flow sites. As a result, comparability is currently limited. Your task: Together with international teams, you will create clarity, uniformity, and transparency.
What tasks will you take on?
You will
- analyze the existing process for collecting quality metrics and describe roles and responsibilities
- develop a uniform definition and regulation for the relevant metrics, including tools and methods for measurement
- evaluate together with our international production sites how measurements are currently made and where adjustments are needed
- identify additional KPIs that support daily operations effectively
- design a practical dashboard for clear visualization of the metrics
What do we expect from you?
You
- are in an advanced stage of your studies (from the 5th semester) – e.g., in industrial engineering, production engineering, or mechanical engineering
- work carefully, structured, and independently
- have communication skills and enjoy working in a team – also across country and department boundaries
- are open to new tools, ways of thinking, and perspectives
What can you expect from us?
- We are a family business with great commitment and a sustainable vision.
- We promote lifelong learning through diverse training and development opportunities, internal knowledge transfer, and e-learning.
- You will work in an international environment with plenty of room for personal responsibility.
- We live an open and supportive corporate culture with flat hierarchies.
- You benefit from flexible working time models and modern infrastructure.
