Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts - Business is the Central Swiss competence center in the economically and socially significant areas of business and regional economics, banking and finance, communication and marketing, as well as tourism and mobility.
The Institute for Tourism and Mobility conducts research in the areas of tourism, mobility, and sustainability. It trains prospective tourism professionals as well as career changers and advises tourism and mobility experts.
From September 2026 or by arrangement, we are looking for you as
Lecturer for Tourism and Destination Management 80 - 100%
Description
- As part of our tourism team, you are involved in the further development of our thematic focuses and strengthen our network in science and practice.
- You acquire, lead, and manage third-party funded research and service projects, thereby contributing to the further profiling of the institute.
- To ensure that our developments in science and practice have an impact, you publish in scientific journals and practice-oriented magazines.
- You develop courses and teach in initial and continuing education. In doing so, you maintain close contact with students and continuing education participants and supervise their work.
- There is the possibility to take over the management of the Bachelor program "International Sustainable Tourism" in cooperation with UN Tourism (due to the upcoming retirement of the current program director).
Requirements
- You have expertise in the field of tourism, ideally with a focus on destination management, as well as a university degree.
- Several years of professional experience outside of universities distinguish you.
- You enjoy taking responsibility and leadership tasks in research, service, and teaching.
- You have proven success in acquiring research and/or service projects.
- Your methodological-didactic skills and your teaching experience at the tertiary education level facilitate your entry (but are not mandatory).
- You have a secure command of German in spoken and written form (ideally at native speaker level) and possess very good English skills.
