The Office for Youth and Career Counseling (AJB) informs, advises, and supports the population of the Canton of Zurich on topics related to family, profession, and career. It provides various services decentrally in several child and youth welfare centers (kjz) and career information centers (biz). Mentoring Ithaka is an offer from biz and supports upper secondary school students in their search for apprenticeships. Volunteer mentors accompany the young people individually on this path.
Due to retirements, the following positions are to be filled:
Mentoring Leader (70%)
Locations biz Oerlikon and biz Kloten as of July 1, 2026
Mentoring Leader (75%)
Location biz Uster as of August 1, 2026
Your tasks:
- Recruitment, training, and leadership of about 40 volunteer mentors
- Implementation of approximately 40 mentoring places annually at your locations (biz)
- Conducting intake interviews with young people, matching the young people with volunteers
- Collaboration with the cantonal Ithaka team, local career counseling, and other specialist offices and institutions
- Participation in organizing training events and events for mentors
- Leading seminars
- Quality assurance
Your profile:
- Completed studies (university of applied sciences or university) in psychology, pedagogy, or social work
- Leadership experience
- Experience in volunteer work, a CAS in volunteer management is an advantage
- Work experience in the field of professional integration, good knowledge of the Swiss education system
- High resilience and initiative
- Willingness for occasional evening assignments
