- Planning, implementation, and operation of the server and system infrastructure (Windows Server)
- Co-responsibility for our virtualization platform (Nutanix) including lifecycle management
- Ensuring stability, scalability, and availability of the server infrastructure
- Operation, monitoring, and optimization of backup and restore solutions
- Analysis and troubleshooting of system environment issues (2nd-/3rd-level support)
- Participation in infrastructure and migration projects
- Close collaboration with network and security engineers to ensure an integrated overall architecture
- Maintenance and further development of standards and operating concepts
- Technical consulting of internal stakeholders on infrastructure issues
- Active participation in the continuous improvement of team performance and working methods according to agile principles
- Promotion of collaboration and technical knowledge transfer within the IT department
- Completed bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience as a system engineer
- Proven, solid knowledge and experience in several of the following areas: operating systems (Windows), virtualization, databases, backup solutions, cloud technologies (Azure), operation/maintenance of data centers, MDM and software distribution as well as collaboration and communication platforms (MS Exchange, Webex including telephony)
- Good understanding of networks and system security
- Very good scripting skills (PowerShell)
- Self-organized and very good prioritization skills, high quality awareness
- Enjoyment in mentoring younger employees
- Good communication skills, able to explain complex issues understandably to non-IT professionals and customers
- Proven ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
- Very good German and English skills, spoken and written
- Willingness to work outside business hours and on weekends for projects, maintenance, or emergency support (on-call duty)
