Care
Head Nurse of the Cardiology Technical Units (ICUS)
We are looking for a head nurse on a permanent contract at 50% for the cardiology technical units sectors starting May 1st (or date to be agreed) 2026.
Attached to the cardiology department of the Heart-Vessels Department (DCV), the activity takes place in 6 rooms. Two angiography rooms and four interventional radiology rooms and one electrophysiology room. Working hours may vary from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm on weekdays and with on-call hours at night and on weekends.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The cardiovascular field is one of the centers of excellence that our institution wishes to strengthen. To achieve this strategic axis, the General Management decided to bring together from January 1, 2017, under a single department cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, angiology, and the experimental cardiology unit.
The medical expertise and state-of-the-art equipment of these services allow offering patients the best possible care and ensuring the training and research devoted to a university hospital, with multiple national and international collaborations.
Mission
This position is a proximity management role, focused on supporting teams and clinical development.
- You ensure the quality of care provided and ensure compliance with institutional reference frameworks
- You plan, supervise, and evaluate the care team
- You promote the development of staff skills
- You organize and supervise teaching and training activities for staff, students, and interns
- You contribute to clinical development and participate in service projects
- You collaborate closely with the existing ICUS, with the ICS, as well as with the extended management team
Profile
- You hold a HES nursing diploma or an equivalent recognized title, with mandatory Red Cross recognition for foreign diplomas
- You have authorization to practice in the canton of Vaud or have submitted a request to the Public Health Service
- You have a management certificate or are willing to undertake training in this area
- You have confirmed clinical experience (minimum 5 years) in acute care, recognized by your peers
- You have experience in cardiology or intermediate care or intensive care or anesthesia (an asset)
- You are dynamic, organized, proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility
- You possess clinical, organizational, and management skills
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- You can work autonomously while collaborating effectively in a team
- You master common computer applications.
