The Interaction Design department explores interfaces and processes between people, services, and technologies. It imparts creative, methodological, and technological skills in industrial and academic research, always with a holistic societal, economic, and cultural context. It broadly covers work for classical and digital media, always focusing on conceptual and design aspects. The goal is to train responsible designers who critically accompany and actively shape these developments.

Teaching and Management Assistant 70%
Focus on User Interface / User Experience Design, Data & Information Visualization.
The position is limited to 3 years.
You will support the Bachelor Major management as well as the subject lecturers in the preparation, execution, and follow-up of courses. You will actively contribute to the further development of specialization content and teaching modules – especially in the areas of User Interface / User Experience Design, Data & Information Visualization, graphic and mobile user interfaces, interaction concepts, and their prototypical implementation. Furthermore, you will supervise and advise students on technical and design-related questions and be responsible for the documentation and preparation of project results. Various additional tasks in the specialization as well as in the overarching department complement your activities.
We are looking for an independent, motivated, and proactive personality with a quick grasp and pronounced organizational skills. You have a completed university degree – preferably at master’s or bachelor’s level – in Interaction Design, Design, Media Art, Computer Science, or a related field, or you have a special interest in the topics of Interaction Design, Communication, and design practice. Ideally, you have solid skills in design, methodological, and technological implementation – for example, in UX/UI Design, Coding, Physical Computing, Spatial & Immersive Interactions, and Prototyping. You bring technical competencies in common tools and areas such as Figma, Physical Computing, Creative Coding, Adobe Creative Cloud, current web technologies, and other specialized tools. You are also interested in didactic questions in the design field as well as complex coordination and communication tasks. Very good oral and written skills in German and English complete your profile.
We offer you a versatile and varied activity in the exciting and stimulating context of an internationally active art and design university. The assistant positions enable qualification in teaching and/or research. The position is limited to three years. An extension for another two years is possible. The employment conditions are based on cantonal personnel legislation.
