Chief Resident (Deputy) for the Mobile-Ambulatory Team for the Elderly
The Department of Psychiatry is looking for a chief resident / deputy chief resident for the mobile team and the Ambulatory Psychiatry Unit for the Elderly of SUPAA North in Yverdon-les-Bains, 80% to 100%, starting November 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of Psychiatry consists of 12 Services addressing the three stages of life. It covers the Central, Western, and Northern psychiatric sectors of the canton.
Led by Professor Armin von Gunten, SUPAA - Psychiatry Service for the Elderly - is recognized as a place for advanced training in psychiatry and psychotherapy for the elderly category C-D2 A (maximum ISFM-FMH recognition for psychiatry and psychotherapy of the elderly; 2 years outpatient, 2 years inpatient.)
The Service provides care for elderly people suffering from psychiatric disorders (from 65 years old) at SUPAA, the Brine Therapeutic Center, at home, or in nursing homes.
Mission
- You ensure direct and indirect clinical activity in the care of patients and their families within the consultation and the mobile team, in close collaboration with multidisciplinary stakeholders and under medical supervision
- You assume administrative management activities related to the position
- You supervise the mobile team assistants, delegated by the unit physician
- You supervise nursing teams in nursing homes, delegated by the unit physician
- If not yet completed, you complete your postgraduate training according to ISFM requirements and institutional rules
- You participate in the on-call system of the Northern Vaud Psychiatry Center (CPNVD.)
Profile
- You hold an FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy (or equivalent) or are in the process of obtaining it or a title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO)
- You are able to work in a multidisciplinary team
- You have an interest in teaching and clinical research
- You have a sense of responsibility
- For non-French-speaking doctors, you master French at least at level B2 (certificate required.)
