Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of seven main departments of JuWe. The JVA Pöschwies, with 399 places, is the largest closed correctional facility in Switzerland for male offenders. It fulfills a central state function and, according to legal mandate, takes into account the resocialization of prisoners and the protection of the public.
We are looking for an independent, committed, and highly organized personality for the Education & Leisure area, starting immediately or by arrangement, who enjoys contributing to different areas of responsibility.
This is your area of responsibility
- Organization and coordination of leisure activities as well as central contact person for course instructors
- Responsibility for the equipment of sports fields, gyms, and fitness rooms and ensuring smooth operation
- Planning and execution of events (e.g., concerts, theater) as well as seasonal offers (e.g., Christmas events)
- Planning, coordination, and execution of tours within the facility
- Procurement and management of books, teaching and leisure materials, as well as newspaper and magazine subscriptions
- Leading and supervising two assigned persons in the library and media library and ensuring ongoing operations
- Participation in the further development of the Education & Leisure area
- Deputizing for the Head of Education & Leisure during her absence
What you bring
- Completed commercial basic training and at least 5 years of professional experience
- Strong organizational talent and an independent, structured, and precise way of working
- High social competence, confident demeanor, and resilience even in demanding situations
- Enjoyment of interconnected thinking as well as coordination and interface tasks
- High digital affinity and motivation to actively participate in projects and help shape new developments
- Confident, clear written and oral communication in German; additional language skills are an advantage
- Impeccable reputation (no entries in the criminal or debt enforcement register)
