With regard to the retirement of the current position holder, the Internal Medicine Clinic of Zollikerberg Hospital is looking for a strong leadership personality as of spring 2026

Chief Physician / Head of Department Internal Medicine Clinic with a seat on the hospital management board

If you also want to make a difference in people's lives, these are your tasks:

• Strategic and conceptual leadership and further development of the entire Internal Medicine Clinic including the Interdisciplinary Emergency Center and specialist departments (together with the nursing management)
• Overall responsibility for ensuring and maintaining the quality of the medical services provided in the clinic in medical, ethical, organizational, and personnel terms.
• Professional and personnel leadership and further development of the medical team (together with the co-chief physician)
• Business management of the Internal Medicine Clinic (together with the nursing management)
• Responsibility for the training and continuing education mandate as an SIWF-recognized training center of category A (3 years)
• Maintaining contact with referring physicians and cooperation partners
• Personnel management of the clinic secretariats and social services
• Co-responsibility in the project "VISIT – Hospital at Home"
• Commitment to company-wide projects and strategic further developments

The Internal Medicine Clinic is an undivided clinic led according to the chief physician principle. We treat inpatient and outpatient patients across the entire spectrum of internal medicine.

The Internal Medicine Clinic cares for over 3,300 inpatients annually and more than 450 patients in the interdisciplinary intensive care unit. The clinic also includes the interdisciplinary emergency center with over 20,000 emergencies. The specialties of gastroenterology, cardiology, pneumology, endocrinology/diabetology, oncology, infectiology, intensive care medicine, emergency medicine, acute geriatrics, and palliative medicine are represented by senior physicians both inpatient and in the medical outpatient clinic. Thus, our clinic is a central service center of Zollikerberg Hospital.

• FMH specialist title or a specialist title for internal medicine recognized in Switzerland, possibly with subspecialization
• Habilitation is required for this position
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in a management position with budget responsibility
• Business management training is required
• Very good knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system and the tariff landscape
• Enjoy interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration and motivation for strategic clinic development (transformation management)
