Job description
As part of its mission to support and provide comprehensive care for elderly people, EMS Résidence La Louvière SA offers an apprenticeship position for a socio-educational assistant (ASE).
Within our medico-social establishment, you will join a team committed to supporting residents who require help and support in daily life activities, in a psychogeriatric context.
The work environment can be emotionally demanding and requires good adaptability, reflection, and management of complex situations, as well as a stable and respectful professional attitude.
This training will allow you to develop solid skills in the socio-educational field, promoting autonomy, well-being, and social connection of residents, in contact with experienced professionals and a multidisciplinary team.
During your training, you will be expected to:
- Support residents in daily life activities (hygiene, personal care, feeding, mobility)
- Participate, under supervision, in providing care respecting the training framework and educational objectives
- Contribute to sociocultural activities promoting the maintenance of abilities and social connection
- Participate in administrative and organizational tasks of the service
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Actively engage in your training, both in practice and at vocational school
Profile sought
Completed compulsory schooling and ability to follow ASE training
Interest in the medico-social field and supporting elderly people with cognitive or psychiatric disorders
Motivation to work in an emotionally demanding care environment
Personal maturity, sense of responsibility, and ability to take a step back
Sense of listening, respect, and professional discretion
Ease in teamwork and communication
Interest in a structured institutional framework
Previous experience (internship, volunteering, social or care field) is an asset
