Statistician / data steward for the SUPEA Clinical Research Unit
The University Service of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (SUPEA) of the Department of Psychiatry is looking for a statistician / data steward at a 50%–60% activity rate for a 3-year fixed-term contract, starting February 1, 2026 (or to be agreed).
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
SUPEA plays a central role in the psychiatric treatment of children and adolescents in the Lausanne region and the canton of Vaud. Its Clinical Research Unit fulfills two main missions:
- Advancing knowledge on psychiatric disorders of childhood and adolescence to develop innovative and evidence-based interventions
- Evaluating the quality of clinical and therapeutic practices of the Service to improve patient care.
Mission
You will be involved in a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation on the effects of social networks on body image and mental health of adolescents, conducted in collaboration between CHUV, Unisanté, and the University Psychiatry of Zurich.
Your main activities include:
- Participation in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of the database on REDCap
- Contribution to the drafting of protocols for ethical submissions
- Management, organization, and securing of project data
- Cleaning, processing, and statistical analysis of collected data
- Clear and relevant data visualization
- Collaboration in writing scientific articles, reports, and presentations
- Close interaction with research teams from CHUV and Zurich
- Support to researchers in data management and extraction, according to current rules.
Profile
- Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, or an equivalent field
- Interest in the mental health of children and adolescents, and applied research
- Proficiency in R and R Markdown; knowledge of other statistical software is an asset
- Experience with REDCap, a key tool for database management
- Excellent writing skills in French and English (German is an asset)
- Rigorous, autonomous personality with a solution-focused mindset, able to adapt to a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.
