Educator for the Autism Spectrum Disorders Service
The Autism Spectrum Disorders & Related (STSA) Service of the Psychiatry Department of the CHUV is looking for an educator at an 80% activity rate to strengthen the team of the Psychiatric Crisis Unit dedicated to intellectual disability (UPCHM – Épione).
The starting date is to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Autism Spectrum Disorders & Related (STSA) Service plays a cantonal reference role in the care and support of minors and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Composed of a tertiary center and regional structures, the service works closely with professionals in the network and user associations.
Its main missions focus on:
- The individualized care and support of people with ASD
- Training of the socio-health network
- Clinical research in this field.
The Psychiatric Crisis Unit dedicated to intellectual disability (UPCHM – Épione) is a hospital structure specialized in the somatic and psychiatric management of crisis situations in non-verbal adults with severe intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder, residing in the canton of Vaud.
Its multidisciplinary team offers individualized care and socio-educational support respecting the safety and dignity of patients, over an average duration of about four months.
Mission
- You ensure expertise and supervision of educational work with hospitalized patients
- You develop and implement socio-educational actions promoting the reintegration of patients into their institutional and/or family environment
- You participate in the development of educational skills centers specific to people with intellectual disabilities
- You contribute to the development of research and teaching in the field.
Profile
- You hold a HES diploma as a social educator or an equivalent qualification (with SEFRI recognition)
- You are a child/adolescent educator trained in ABA / TEACCH or have in-depth knowledge of these approaches
- You have confirmed experience in the field of ASD and intellectual disability (ID)
- You appreciate interdisciplinary work and collaborate effectively with a network of internal and external partners
- You are flexible with working hours
- You demonstrate autonomy in organizing and planning your activity.
