The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology is the largest radiology entity in the canton of Vaud with more than 250 collaborators serving patients from the Lake Geneva region as well as the rest of Switzerland. As a university hospital affiliated with the University of Lausanne (UNIL), we host medical students, radiology assistant doctors, as well as heads of clinics in diagnostic and interventional radiology for their training. We also receive radiology technicians during their training at HESAV.
Our scientific activities involve internationally renowned research groups in various fields of radiology, particularly in MRI imaging with more than 50 full-time scientists in collaboration with the Biomedical Imaging Center (CIBM), UNIL, and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Our service is organized into several specialized units based on organ/pathology and provides both diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive interventional therapies. This organization optimizes interactions with clinicians and surgeons in their respective fields.
