What you will do here
- Research & Development: Participate in a research project to develop an Intelligent Tutoring System for the higher education context
- Methodological Innovation: Further develop Bayesian Knowledge Tracing as well as the integration of Large Language Models in adaptive learning environments
- Knowledge Transfer: Design and conduct courses and workshops on AI in teaching for instructors and staff
- Project Management: Support the coordination of subprojects and collaboration with internal and external partners
- Evaluation: Conduct empirical studies on the effectiveness of the developed learning environments
What you ideally bring with you
- Completed doctorate in a scientific field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, physics, psychology, cognitive science, machine learning)
- Proven expertise in machine learning, Bayesian modeling, or natural language processing, with experience in learning analytics or intelligent tutoring systems
- Proficiency in Python, R, or Julia and relevant ML frameworks
- Experience in higher education teaching or adult education
- Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration, interest in cognitive science educational technology, as well as an independent and structured working style
