The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partnership institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Job opening for a Social Work Outreach position – TSHM Arve Lac Team, for an 80% sociocultural animator position, serving 11 municipalities (organized into 2 subsectors: "Littoral" Sector: Vésenaz/Collonge, Corsier, Anières, Hermance and "Jardin" Sector: Meinier, Gy, Jussy, Presinge, Puplinge, Choulex, Vandoevres).
Job Description
- Ensure proximity prevention and mediation work with young people disconnected from social ties and/or seeking social integration, immersion in the local area, street work, neighborhood activities, small jobs, individualized follow-ups, sports halls, etc.;
- Contribute to the development of projects promoting social cohesion within the municipalities and the implementation of intergenerational actions;
- Based on observed social issues, participate in the development of collective work, in close collaboration with other social workers, existing social structures, and municipal authorities;
- Manage a support project for CO Bois Caran students on TPG buses, in public spaces during lunch breaks and after classes (small percentage of working time and HR management in addition to the 80%);
- Actively participate in the conceptualization and implementation of community actions and targeted actions on priority issues or populations;
- Assume management/organizational tasks related to activities and objectives set by FASe and the municipalities.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level, or an equivalent university degree;
- Desired experience in social action, knowledge of youth population characteristics, strong interest and demonstrated skills for working with adolescents/young adults;
- Good knowledge and practice in project methodology, collective actions, and situation diagnosis;
- Skills for network work: collaboration with social actors of the concerned municipalities and the canton, and proximity institutions; good knowledge of the Geneva social network;
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with the team, coherently and respectfully with other social workers of the sector and neighboring municipalities and the Institution’s requirements;
- Initiative, creativity, sense of responsibility;
- Good experience in organization and planning, managing priorities and emergencies;
- Ability to write reports, use common computer software, rigor and respect for deadlines;
- Good ability to engage in public spaces and approach young people to bring out their issues.
Additional Information
- Availability for irregular hours (including evenings and weekends);
- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 15;
- Car driving license required;
- Start date: to be agreed;
