Medical secretaries for the Plastic and Hand Surgery Service
We are looking for two medical secretaries at 50%, starting 01.02.2026 for the plastic and hand surgery service within the Department of the Locomotor System.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
Our DAL department includes the rheumatology, orthopedics and traumatology services, plastic and hand surgery, the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as the Sports Medicine Center and the Chiropractic Unit. It manages pathologies related to the skeleton, tendons, and joints, whether accidental or degenerative in origin.
Our service offers all types of reconstructive surgery. It also performs revascularization, aesthetic surgery, hand surgery, and transgender surgery. It also participates in the care of burn and major burn patients.
Mission
- You ensure the management and administrative follow-up of the patient file, while ensuring the confidentiality of their data
- You type and validate operative protocols, as well as discharge and transfer letters
- You answer the phone, adapting your communication according to the particular context of each user
- You inform the patient about the progress of their administrative care
- You ensure routine administrative follow-up
- You ensure the filing and archiving of patient files.
Profile
- You hold a medical secretary diploma or equivalent, with at least 2 years of experience in a medical secretarial or similar position
- You have excellent knowledge of medical terminology and perfect mastery of French and spelling
- You have great writing and typing skills
- You have very good knowledge of basic office tools (Microsoft Office)
- You have interpersonal skills, empathy, and listening skills with a developed sense of welcome and service
- You have a sense of priority management and organization in the context of patient care and follow-up
- You appreciate working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
- You are eager to learn, flexible, and ready to get involved in this role.
