More than 480 children and young people with physical and/or cognitive impairments, with speech, hearing or other profound developmental disabilities are currently taught and supported integratively in the regular schools of the canton or separately at four locations in the city of Schaffhausen. In addition to various therapy offers, we run a school-complementary area with lunch, day structure and boarding school. Over 570 employees are committed in various functions at the SCHAFFHAUSER SPECIAL SCHOOLS.
From February 2026, we are looking for a qualified care professional EFZ / caregiver with experience for our day structure with a workload of 25% (Monday 9-14.15, Tuesday, Thursday each 11.30 – 14.15).
Our day structure serves to promote and provide meals for children and young people with disabilities during lunchtime on school days. As a qualified care professional, you accompany and support children and young people with cognitive and/or physical impairments as well as profound developmental disorders in their daily lives. You design the care individually and needs-oriented. In doing so, you carefully document your work and take on household tasks that arise in everyday care. You support the children and young people in meaningful leisure activities and daily life activities, promote skill acquisition and take over actions on their behalf where necessary. You respond confidently to challenging behaviors and guide the children and young people towards appropriate social behavior.
You work in a team with care professionals, caregivers and across the board with the teachers, therapists and assistant staff responsible for the children and young people at the school. Training as a qualified care professional EFZ or experience as a caregiver in the field of people with disabilities is a prerequisite for employment in this position. Our employment conditions are based on the cantonal personnel law.
