The Grisons Emergency Medical Call Center 144 (CES144 GR) organizes and coordinates the rescue of injured and ill persons in the canton of Grisons. It is a section of the Public Health Office and is hosted in the premises of the Emergency and Rapid Response Call Center of the Grisons Cantonal Police in Chur, which answers calls to the emergency numbers 112, 117, 118, and 144.
For the Emergency Medical Call Center 144, we are looking for an operator starting May 1, 2026, or by agreement.
- Receiving emergency calls arriving at 144
- Alerting and coordinating rescue resources as well as special teams (care team, first responder, SOS services, emergency medical sections) according to cantonal and internal plans
- Providing instructions to callers regarding first aid measures
- Documenting and monitoring the measures taken
- Reporting which doctors, dentists, and ophthalmologists are on call as well as which pharmacies are on duty
- Exchanging relevant information for intervention purposes with partners involved inside and outside the Emergency Call Center
- Primary management of interventions in special and extraordinary situations
- Working in day, night, and weekend shifts (365 days / 24 hours), on-call service
- Collaboration within working groups, secondary administrative tasks
- Strong sense of responsibility; high social skills
- Ability to quickly assess complex situations, maintain an overview, and coordinate simultaneous processes
- Mental resilience, ability to make decisions in exceptional situations and to act in a structured, professional, and targeted manner
- Affinity with IT tools, competence in using technically demanding communication systems and devices
- Diploma as a professional paramedic dipl. SSS, nurse dipl. SSS, auxiliary ambulance paramedic APF or ASM, and at least 6 years of specific professional experience
- Excellent knowledge of German; oral knowledge of Italian and/or English
- You are communicative, dynamic, and a team player
- Willingness to take the professional exam for Emergency Call Center Operator APF within four years
