Nurse for pediatric emergencies
To strengthen its team, the Pediatric Emergency Service of the Lausanne University Hospital is looking for a nurse at a 70% activity rate, to start as of April 1, 2026.
This position is aimed at a dynamic, organized person with excellent interpersonal skills, eager to actively engage with colleagues in a proactive approach to continuous improvement of care.
Context
Within the Women-Mother-Child Department (DFME), the Pediatrics Service provides comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for children and adolescents from 0 to 18 years old. It works closely with other department services, including neonatology, pediatric surgery, adolescent medicine, gynecology, and obstetrics.
The Pediatric Emergency Service, open 24/7, handles all pediatric medical emergencies in a demanding, stimulating environment focused on the needs of the child and their family.
CHUV is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, medical research, and education.
Mission
- You join an interdisciplinary team composed of nurses, specialized nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, and secretaries
- You ensure and develop expert clinical practice with the children cared for and their relatives
- You contribute to comprehensive and safe care adapted to pediatric emergency situations
- You provide therapeutic education to patients and their families, promoting information, support, and guidance.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Red Cross, mandatory
- You have training in emergency care (EPDSU) or an equivalent qualification, an asset
- You have experience in pediatrics, an asset
- You demonstrate commitment, professional rigor, and a strong sense of responsibility
- You possess good synthesis, analysis, organization, and priority management skills
- You are comfortable in interpersonal relationships and recognized for your assertiveness
- You appreciate teamwork and interprofessional collaboration.
