The Cantonal Forestry Office is the competence center for questions about the St. Gallen forest. Together with the five forest regions, it is enthusiastically committed to a high-performing, diverse, and adaptable forest and a healthy forest and wood economy. The Cantonal Forestry Office provides central services in the areas of forest planning, forestry project management, forest protection and maintenance, protective forest and biodiversity, natural hazards, public relations, as well as training and further education.
We are looking for an
Intern in Forest Law and Process Development (m/f/d)
immediately or by arrangement, limited for 6 to 12 months
Workload: 80-100%
Workplace: St. Gallen
What to expect
- Collaboration on forestry legal matters in the areas of clearing, forest setbacks, and forest determination (building outside the building zone, local planning)
- Conducting and accompanying inspections within the framework of forest law clarifications
- Reviewing, revising, and further developing internal processes in the area of forest law
- Participation in documenting processes and structured knowledge transfer
- Standardization and consolidation of templates as well as ensuring availability for the specialist departments
- Collaboration in projects in the areas of forestry planning, forest biodiversity, and public relations
What distinguishes you
- Scientific university of applied sciences or university degree (BSc), e.g., in environmental natural sciences (specialization in forest and landscape management), forest sciences, or spatial planning
- Interest in forest law issues, legal contexts, and enjoyment in analyzing and designing processes
- Confident German language skills in speaking and writing
- Independent, structured working style and enjoyment in exchanging with different stakeholders
- Driver's license category B
