familea is a socially responsible association with a 125-year tradition in the Basel area. In over 40 daycares, we care for around 3,000 children. We operate children and youth homes, the foster care center, and social and legal counseling for women. Our services strengthen families, children, and women. They promote the compatibility of family and work, contribute to equal opportunities and integration. From August 1, 2026, or by arrangement, we are looking for you as
Head of Residential Services and Women's Counseling
Member of the Executive Board 60% - 80%
Your area includes the children and youth homes, the foster care center, and women's counseling.
In this demanding position, you move confidently in complex contexts, think strategically and innovatively, and develop the area competently. You bring understanding and interest in pedagogy as well as the ability to set impulses and drive new ideas and innovative projects forward. You keep an eye on business management contexts as well as the goal-oriented control of work processes for optimal service delivery.
You maintain a respectful approach to people, empower and strengthen the local management, and support them in development processes. With political sensitivity, you establish sustainable relationships with external and internal bodies and navigate confidently in a strong network. Negotiation skills, assertiveness, and high social competence complete your strengths.
Your main tasks:
- Professional and business management of the area
- Leadership of the experienced (co-)managers of the various locations
- Conceptual and innovative further development of the services
- Conducting negotiations with authorities at the cantonal level, together with the executive director
- Design of efficient and effective processes
Your profile:
- University degree / advanced professional training in the pedagogical, social, or psychological field or other directions with corresponding in-depth further training
- Further training in management, ideally of non-profit organizations
- Confidence in conception and project management as well as implementation strength
- Several years of leadership experience in a managerial role
- Professional experience in the residential sector or foster care is an advantage
