The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
Attached to the Care Directorate, the Patient Transfer Coordination Unit is unique in Switzerland. It is responsible for ensuring that each patient travels according to their needs and in compliance with institutional safety criteria.
It works with various partners but carries out its own transfers by ambulance. The working tool is a state-of-the-art ambulance equipped with modern equipment. The transfer nurse handles all types of care: acute or stable, somatic or psychiatric, for adult or pediatric populations, and to various care locations within the canton or in Switzerland.
Depending on interest and after an integration period in the ambulance, the transfer nurse can also join the coordination team responsible for mission planning and organizing international repatriations.
Mission
- You take charge of all types of patients to be transferred by ambulance
- You anticipate all risks related to care and make necessary decisions for the smooth running of the transfer
- You ensure continuity of care by collecting data during care and targeted transmission to the destination
- You ensure traceability of care by using communication tools
- You ensure the availability and proper functioning of your work environment
- After an integration period and according to your interest, you have the possibility to join the coordination team that manages transfer missions and organizes international repatriations.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification
- You have 2 years of experience in an emergency department, intensive care, or anesthesiology
- You wish to work autonomously, without immediate close supervision
- You demonstrate great adaptability
- You show an ability to communicate with multiple interlocutors and have a synthesis mindset
