The Asset Management of Zürcher Kantonalbank is the second largest provider in Switzerland with over CHF 320 billion assets under management (as of 31.10.2025) and around 280+ investment experts. Our sustainability and pension expertise is internationally recognized.
This leadership position is crucial for the further development of the sustainability strategy in the asset management of Zürcher Kantonalbank, as well as for positioning the bank as a pioneer in sustainable investments. The team consists of experts in sustainability strategy, data science, and active ownership. The position includes responsibility for the processes of creating investment universes as well as the further development of active and passive investment products for all sustainable investments. If you bring solid knowledge in sustainable investments, extensive expertise in EU and Swiss regulatory requirements, strong quantitative and technical skills, strong process competencies, and proven leadership qualities, you are the ideal candidate for this position.
Your tasks
- Strategic development and implementation of the sustainability strategy in asset management
- Identification of sustainability trends, market requirements, and regulatory developments
- Representation of ZKB as a thought leader in sustainable finance
- Building and maintaining relationships with customers, industry associations, universities, and technical schools. Representation at conferences and expert panels
- Communication of the sustainability strategy to internal and external target groups (including media, investors)
- Leadership and development of a diverse team of experts
- Chairing the ESG committee, aligning all stakeholders to a common overall strategy, and representing it in the asset management leadership team
- Development and management of quantitative models and proprietary scoring frameworks that create added value for our investment strategies
- Optimization and automation of ESG processes in collaboration with IT
- Integration and implementation of relevant regulations (EU, CH)
Your profile
- At least 15 years of experience in asset management, of which at least 7 years focused on sustainable investments
- Master's degree or equivalent in finance, economics, or related disciplines
- Proven management experience
- Excellent presentation and moderation skills for internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with proprietary scoring models, active ownership strategies, and reporting
- Affinity for financial modeling, statistics, combined with a strong technology orientation; index or passive portfolio management experience is an advantage
- Good understanding of Swiss and European sustainability regulations (e.g., SFDR, EU Taxonomy)
- Very good German and English skills, French or other languages are an advantage; team language is English
- Good networking in the Swiss sustainability / ESG community (e.g., industry associations, peers, etc.)
