Clinical Research Resident Physician in Cerebrovascular Diseases
The Directorate of the Clinical Neurosciences Department at CHUV is seeking a clinical research resident physician in cerebrovascular diseases at an activity rate of 80% to 100%, to strengthen its team within the Cerebrovascular Center. The start date is planned for November 1, 2026, for a duration of 1 to 2 years.
The Cerebrovascular Center at CHUV (Lausanne University Hospital) is looking for a clinical research resident to join its cerebrovascular clinical research team, starting November 2026 (flexible start date), for a duration of 1–2 years (occupational rate of 80-100%).
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Cerebrovascular Center of the Neurology service manages nearly 800 patients each year who have suffered strokes and is heavily involved in numerous national and international clinical trials as well as research on stroke treatment and prevention.
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Through its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Cerebrovascular Center of the Neurology service at CHUV manages nearly 800 patients each year who have suffered from strokes. The team is strongly involved in numerous trials on acute stroke treatment and prevention, both nationally and internationally.
Mission
- You are involved in clinical and research activities in cerebrovascular diseases
- You coordinate and monitor randomized clinical trials
- You develop one or more personal research projects
- You participate in the collection and analysis of cerebrovascular registry data
- You contribute to international multicenter research projects
- You conduct outpatient consultations in cerebrovascular pathology
- You participate in the production of scientific publications.
- You will be involved in a broad range of clinical and research activities in the field of cerebrovascular diseases, including international clinical trials and research projects leading to scientific publications
- Coordination and follow-up of randomized clinical trials
- Development of one or more independent research project
- Participation in international multicenter collaborations
- Outpatient consultations in cerebrovascular diseases.
Profile
- You hold a Swiss federal medical degree or a qualification recognized by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions (MEBEKO)
- You are a neurology resident (assistant doctor) or in training, with a strong interest in cerebrovascular diseases
- You have a strong interest in clinical research and some initial experience in this field (clinical trials, projects, or publications)
- You demonstrate scientific rigor, autonomy, and excellent organizational skills in project management
- You have an analytical mindset and an interest in clinical data analysis
- You enjoy teamwork and interdisciplinary as well as international collaboration
- You are comfortable working in a dynamic and demanding academic environment
- You are fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
