Team Leader Pre-Trial Detention 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 staff from a wide range of professional backgrounds. Our task is the secure execution of deprivation of liberty – with the aim of preventing recidivism and enabling the reintegration of offenders.
The Main Department of Pre-Trial Detention Facilities Zurich (UGZ) operates several prisons for pre-trial and security detention. The Zurich prison, with 135 places, is the largest pre-trial detention facility in the canton and plays a central role in the admission and distribution of incarcerated persons.
As a team leader, you take responsibility for the operational daily routine of execution and lead a team in direct contact with incarcerated persons. Together with four other team leaders, you ensure a safe, structured, and professional operation.

- Professional and personnel leadership of a team in execution as well as promotion of employees according to JuWe's leadership principles
- Organization and coordination of daily service operations as well as ensuring efficient processes
- Ensuring safety and order in daily execution, including supervision, controls, and initiation of measures in case of special incidents
- Close cooperation with the execution management as well as participation in the further development of execution and projects
- Responsibility for administrative tasks, reporting, and compliance with internal instructions and legal requirements
This is you
- Established leadership personality with assertiveness, conflict management skills, and high resilience with experience in execution or a comparably demanding environment
- Completed vocational training (EFZ), (specialized) Matura or an equivalent qualification, and ideally the federal specialist certificate as a specialist for correctional services or willingness to complete this training
- Fluent German skills and confident handling of common IT applications
- Minimum age 25 years, impeccable reputation, and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and night shifts
